Unit 1 - Fish Blood Constituents
Lymphocyte - Occurrence

Back to Lymphocytes

The proportion of leucocytes which are lymphocytes may be as high as 85% in some fish species.

Lymphocytes comprise 89 to 98% of leucocytes in juvenile Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).

However  it is difficult to estimate the numbers of lymphocytes in fish blood accurately as it is often difficult to distinguish them from thrombocytes.
