About Us

Established in 1996, AMC Ltd. is a non-profit making organisation based in Dublin, Ireland but also having active partnerships with many other European organisations through participation in trans-national projects and events.

We are strongly committed to the development of interactive learning related to the application of new technologies in the area of aquatic science, including aquaculture. These concern language learning tools, multi-lingual databases, e-learning and ODL marine science courses.

All levels of interest are catered for, from children’s games to scientifical/ technical courses. Users of all ages will find something of interest in our pages.

History
Aqualex Multimedia Consortium (AMC) Ltd. was formed in 1996 to market the results of the European Commission LINGUA Programme funded project, AQUALEX I, which provided the groundwork for the Aqualex glossary, published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd, New York.

How AMC advances marine science education:

1. Learning tools for the multi-disciplinary needs (including linguistic needs) of workers and researchers in the aquaculture industry and related sciences
2. Continuous development of the learning potential of AQUALEX, the ODL interactive glossary of aquaculture terminology
3. Dissemination of knowledge gained in the development of products
4. Technology transfer initiatives
