Projects
- The NATO SCIENCE FOR STABILITY programme was aimed towards increasing the knowledge of the Aegean ecosystem, particularly round the shelf areas. In 1986, when the project actually started, these areas were not well known. Research focused on the study of the food chains, the ecology and production of some shallow coastal areas around Crete, as well as surveys of the shelf regions of other Aegean islands. The newly-commissioned PHILIA was used in these early studies.
