About this projectThis presentation has been developed as an initiative of Aqua TT, the European Aquaculture Training Network, using the co-operative efforts of university and enterprise partners from six European countries. The preparation of this Company Audit document is a response to the need for providing aquaculture companies with an independent tool to enable them to make some observations and conclusions about their operations. This has been done with a particular view to identifying both current and future training requirements. Indications of how and when to source training are given as the user completes the Company Audit review and associated references. Nearly all of the companies active in aquaculture are Small and Medium size Enterprises (SMEs) and/or family businesses and the DELTA website presents a broad procedure for reviewing production and management processesaimed to help these SMEs. Summaries of technical, financial and marketing performance parameters are included in order to assist understanding the interconnecting elements that are important for successful business operation.
The desired result of this auto-review is the preparation of an action plan
that interacts with and corresponds to specific company objectives, forming
an integral part of the company's development strategy. Completion of this
should allow the SME to determine better its training needs, phasing these
over time in line with practical requirements and financial resources.
The key to achieving a successful result from this analysis is developing a
sound understanding of the company's business objectives and needs and
relating these to the development of an integrated training plan.
